JULY 2005

In June 2005 the ZANU PF Government started Operation Murambatsina - "Cleaning out the Trash" - a urban cleansing operation where they obliterated thousands of home in Harare, Bulaayo and other urban cenbters around the country. Over 1 million people have been displaced and are homneless. Many have lost their entire houseold item and means of livlihood and many have been killed.

September 1, 2004: 

In response to the deteriorating economic situation in Zimbabwe we have, in conjunction with Renewal Ministries of Harare, started a program to provide assistance to pensioners within Zimbabwe.  Our initial support will be towards those pensioners in the Bulawayo region.  Renewal Ministries will provide similar support services to those in the Harare area.

Our initial support efforts will be to those residents of the Coronation Cottages, as well as working with the group Support Old Age Pensioners.
